Everybody in the paintball community respects Platinum Eclipse for producing top-notch goods. Both their reputation and their jerseys are outstanding. When you put it on, it feels as light as said, and because your motions are unrestricted, it has no effect on how well you perform even if you are in the thick of the action.
Your arms are completely shielded from the elements while without weighting you down because it does not have short sleeves. I appreciate their efforts to make it comfortable to wear while maintaining its fashionable appearance. Many jerseys have padding added to them to guard against paintball hits, but Planet Eclipse does not. Your jersey becomes more breathable by omitting padding, and they go one step further by including a ventilation section. Even if you tend to perspire a lot while playing sports, this product will help you stay cool and perspire relatively little.
Material used:
It has a microfiber interior, grooved cuffs, and a fitted sensation around your neck. It is made entirely of polyester. You can place a special order if you are the team captain and want everyone to wear custom jerseys. I suggest washing these by hand, but if you have to use a machine, make sure the hook and loop are covered. Once the machine starts moving, it will eventually tear in the machine.
Fit & Finish
The Eclipse fits loosely and athletically. Its fit is a tad snug. I’m 5’2″ and can wear almost any manufacturer’s size small. However, I liked a medium-sized Eclipse so I could wear my fleeces and hoodies underneath.
All of the zippers have been plasticized, which means a layer of plastic that is resistant to water has been placed on top of them. This pertains to the pit zips, pocket zips, and centre front zip (which has a protective rain flap underneath the zipper). Additionally, the pockets are placed rather high on the body so that you may use them while sporting a fanny pack. Because the pockets are mesh, their usefulness is increased. It serves as a storage space for my belongings as well as an additional vent!
I’ve been donning the Eclipse paintball jersey for a few weeks now, during a typically gloomy and wet spring in the Pacific Northwest. The material is smooth and silky; it doesn’t wrinkle like wax paper or whisk when you walk.
I haven’t experienced any clamminess or stickiness while wearing it, however I did need to adjust my temperature by opening the pit and jacket zips. According to Marmot, the jacket will continue to repel water even after you’ve spent more than 24 hours in a steady downpour. I was unable or unwilling to put this particular claim to the test, but I did see that water continued to bead up and run off the surface even after I had walked for more than an hour through soggy, drizzling rain.
